dining reservations for summer?
I've been reading everyone's recommendations for restaurants, esp. in Paris. My husband and I have been to Europe three times, but always in shoulder months. We're taking two teenagers to Paris, London, and Munich the last week of July/first week of August this time. Do we need reservations for dinner, or will we find plenty of options if we just stop along our travels? (We're not picky eaters and will basically just want something tasty in our stomachs.) Thanks.

If you really not picky eaters I see no reason why you would need reservations. Just walk along the street/avenue, find a restaurant and menu that looks OK, if it's not crowded go in. If it is crowded, keep walking until you find one. I'd think you would need reservations for well-known or locally-popular restaurants, but if you're really not picky, then no problem.

Thanks for the responses.... I was picturing my poor family trudging from one full restaurant to another, but I didn't really want to tie us down to specific times and locales if I didn't need to!

You can usually reserve for the same day quite easily if you do it in the afternoon...very popular restaurants may be difficult to get a table by just showing up. Your hotel can be quite helpful placing them for you in advance.
