Day trips from Volterra
Hello;
I am looking for suggestions for day trips from Volterra. I will be in Volterra for 3 nights in May and plan on spending one day walking around Volterra itself.
I have been to San Gimignano a few times, and Monteriggioni twice, so those would not be on my must see list. I have also been to Lucca once, and not really anxious to return.
I will have a car, and am very comfortable driving to small towns, off the beaten path.
Thanks for the help.

Hi, vawegs. We've visited Volterra as a day trip, so I hope you'll come back and give your thoughts on using it as a base for exploring.
I would consider Chianti, which town or towns would depend a little on your interests, but you can't go wrong almost anywhere in the area. Maybe find out what day is market day in Greve and pair with Montefioralle, or Radda and Gaiole.
Have you already been to Siena?
