Natalie, I was in Prague in November. If you would like a copy of my travelogue, please email me.

Possible day trips for you to look into: Terezin, Kutna Hora, Cesky Krumlov, Karlovy Vary.

I stayed at the House at the Charles Bridge in Mala Strana, right on the Vlatva River and only 50 meters from the Charles Bridge. I booked it through Accommodations On Line (www.interacta.cz). You might want to compare prices of multiple booking agents for the same hotel, and even compare that to the hotel's advertised rack rate, as I notice that prices do vary from one to the other.

Natalie, we spent seven days in Prague and didn't see everything that we wanted to, so four would be tight, I think. We tend to spend more time in one place to get a good feel for it. I wanted to visit Cesky Krumlov, but we didn't make it, but that makes for a return trip, doesn't it?

For accommodations, we stayed at the Cloister Inn in Old Town, about six blocks from the Charles Bridge and maybe eight from the city center. It's a good hotel and inexpensive.

Prague is a beautiful city and not that big. You can do a lot of exploring on foot and the trolleys are both convenient and easy to use. June is a great time of year.

My wife and I were in Prague last spring and we stayed in an ideal little hotel situated perfectly for walking to all the sites. The name of it is: U Zlate Studny, phone 420-2-2222-0130, email www.uzlatestudny.cz; our room had a vaulted ceiling with painted beams, large windows, and there was a restaurant in the building. Prague is a very walkable city with lots to see. I think 4 days is plenty..try to take in some jazz in a club at night.

Natalie,
We stayed at the Hotel Kinsky Garden. Rather delightful, cozy hotel in an old building. The rooms are a little small, but since most of our time was spent out and about, it didn't matter. Our particular room overlooked the gardens, which made for pleasant mornings. The The staff was very helpful, and very pleasant. The hotel is a short block from a popular tram line, too.

We had six days, and took day trips to Terezin and Cesky Krumlov. One more day would have been perfect. (If you're looking for the best potato pancakes (in my opinion), try the ones at Klub Architek.) Have fun!

Natalie- Just came back from 3 days in Prague. Stayed at the Hotel U Prince...if the budget allows for it I recommend it without hesitation. Absolutely perfect location. Also, we used Athos Travel (www.athos.cz) for all our hotel, restaurant, airport pick-up etc. Filip and his partners at Athos were the BEST!
