Cuenca restaurant recommendation?
Our long overdue (it has already been 4 years since last time!!!) sojourn to Spain is now looming close, and we are very excited to finally go. I did finally obtain AVE tickets to Cuenca (RENFE posted them only about 4 weeks out) and we will be overnighting there at the Parador.
I am then wondering if there would be any particular recommendation for a restaurant to seek out in this town. (I speak Spanish fluently, if that makes a difference).
Mil gracias !

Check out Figón del Huéar (www.figondelhuecar.es), with a view of the river gorge and the Parador. It's well priced.
There is also El Secreto (www.elsecretocuenca.com).

Thanks so much again, Robert (wow!) I will most certainly have a look at both of these.
You have been so helpful on this Spain forum, and seem to be well in-the-know as well as being a (very) quick responder on a large number of related topics. I am not trying to pry into your life, but I just have to ask: do you live part of the year in Spain (Pamplona)? Or are you a spanish citizen? What is the connection, I wonder. Again, please do not feel you have to respond, I am not being nosy but I am a little curious
(and probably envious!).

We spend as much time as possible traveling around Spain, Portugal and the south of France (on business of course) and have been going to Pamplona for fiesta for a very long time. Northern Spain is where most of our friends and family are.

Three restaurants in Cuenca mentioned in the Guia Repsol, the Spanish equivalent to the Micehlin guide. One of them is Robert's Figón del Huécar: http://www.guiarepsol.com/en/search/...uenca&folders=

Thanks kimhe! While I know of the Repsol guides, I was unaware that Figón del Huécar was mentioned there. We are very much looking forward to our short stay in Cuenca.
We are then going to Madrid from there, so I have been reading through some of your other recommendations on Flamenco (which we love!) venues in another thread. The info you provide is so helpful as well. Also, the lineup at Café Central for the second half of October is not up yet, but I will be checking their website from time to time.

Glad you find the tips useful! Fabulous up and coming dancers in Cardamomo in Madrid in October, Macarena Ramirez and Paloma Fantova dance different sets.
