Trying to figure out if we will take a trip in late May and if so where. Crete is one of the places we are considering. It looks as though that traveling from the US and fully vaccinated is all we need to do except complete a locator form, does anyone know if this is correct?
I think we will have 10-14 days in Crete. We might consider also visiting Rhodes, does anyone know the best way to reach Rhodes from Crete.

Rhodes is difficult to combine as it is just off the Turkish coast. Fly to Athens from Crete and then to Rhodes.
I encourage you to stay in western Crete in or near Chania and explore western Crete. We spend two weeks in that area plus a few nights on the south coast in Loutro. Fabulous trip!

Another vote for western Crete. If you're up to it, the hike down the Samaria Gorge is worthwhile, but hard on the knees.

I flew direct from Crete to Rhodes, and it looks like that is still possible.

It looks like Sky Express has non-stop flights from Crete (Heraklion) to Rhodes. As I recall Olympic Air used to have non-stop flights as well, but I am only seeing connecting flights via Athens now.

Yes, of course there are ferries from Athens (Piraeus) to Milos. There is also an airport on Milos with flights from Athens. Are you thinking about combining Milos with Crete? That might be possible with a ferry change at Santorini. One good website that shows connections with more than one ferry is Ferryhopper.com.

Crete is the largest of the Greek Islands. In fact it's almost it's own country.

It would take several weeks to fully explore. Spend your entire time there and you'll be amazed by the island.

As far as entry regulations for entering Greece always refer to the official Greek government web page rather than relying on forums where you may or may not get the right info.

Having said that according to the Greek Website you need only to be fully vaccinated and have an official government card to show upon arrival. Greece has now stopped mandatory covid testing upon arrival for US citizens. They are also talking about doing away with the PLF form.
