14 days until I head out to Tucson to visit friends.
Then 3 weeks in Turkey September 22 - October 11. And to finish out 2007 Christmas in Rome, December 22-December 31st...yes I am already making plans for a year from now...I know it's an addiction with me! Happy New Year to All! :) |
17 days till my first cruise ever! Los Angeles, San Diego, Catalina, Ensenada.
April vacations went through major changes. Amsterdam can sleep... I am not coming :( Going to Copper Canyon on April 17 instead. Not sure, should I be upset Europe has to wait, or be glad I'm finally going to see the Canyon, wanted for some time! |
20 ways to third visit to Paris, the first I will stay in a rented apartment. I am really looking forward this trip as I will be meeting my daughter and a friend of ours there. After that, I fly to a meeting in Cairo, Egypt, and on the way back I stop for 5 nights in Athens, Greece.

Of course, it is 20 "days" (not 20 "ways"...).

Less than a month to my trip back to London. We arrive on January 25th.
I spent my honeymoon in the UK in May of 2005. Now I'm hooked. Even though travel is expensive, I'm learning ways to make it possible. I want to continue to go new places. But first I'm taking my parents and my brother-in-law along with me and my husband this time. My mother and I always had a dream to visit England. She got me obsessed with Camelot and C.S. Lewis when I was young so that sealed the deal for me which was already set in stone for her. She got sick the year we started planning to go. But thank the good Lord, she recovered. I know both her and my brother-in-law Brad (who is slow) were hurting a bit inside when my husband and I went on our honeymoon. I remember thinking that somehow I was going to get the both of them to go. I thank you to Fodors and all of your posts with your help to get us there. Happy New Year to all!!!!!!!!!! |
19 days till we are off for 2 glorious weeks in Costa Rica and Nicaragua. All I need to figure out is how to meet the 30 lb weight limit on the flight between the 2 countries!

150 days until Paris - going solo this time, May 27 - Jun 7.
This'll be my second time there, very much looking forward. -Alan |
6 months, 3 days and 8 hours ... but who's counting!
First trip to Europe and am devouring everything I can before we go. This forum has been incredible and I am so grateful for everyone's trip reports, answers to questions and web links. It's just so exciting! We're flying Australia to Rome via Singapore ,then after 6 nights in Rome we'll get a bus (thanks ira!)to Siena. After one night there we'll be in Florence for 4 nights, Venice for 4, Varenna for 5 and lastly Paris for a week. What am I most looking forward to ? Apart from the usual sights and tourist spots I can't wait to lie in bed and listen to the streetlife in Rome; eat crepes from a street stall in Paris; take photos of places my Dad went to 50 years ago in Siena; make pasta & drink wine on the Accidental Tourist Cooking class in Florence; ride a vaporetto in Venice and sit on our hotel balcony in Varenna looking straight out at the lake!!! For me it is the different smells, sounds, people, buildings and atmosphere that I'm mostly looking forward to. Also, spending 3 very special nights with our daughter in Rome before she heads home after her "Big European Holiday". Our accomodation is booked, flights paid for and feet VERY itchy!!!CAN'T WAIT!! Am loving reading everyone else's plans. |
Exactly a month from today we leave for Thailand!

Well, it's official...I am taking my very very fearful of flying sister on her first trip out of the country -- to Amsterdam in April. She is a HUGE art fan, Van Gogh and Vermeer in particular. This will be interesting, as we are polar opposites traveling together, and just getting her on the plane will be a test. But I am looking forward to getting her bitten by the travel bug.
Somehow I never go where I was thinking about. I had planned either another bike tour of Sicily or a trip to Rome with a college friend, or Russia/Finland. I am really striving for that later this year...it's now twice postponed and I have genealogy research I want to do! Any tips on helping fearful flyers cope (or coping with traveling with a fearful flyer) are appreciated! |
Going to Switzerland for a week, departing the last Saturday of January.
Got to find some kind of outerware for the snow (going to the mountains). Can't wait! |
I am leaving on Sunday, January 14th for Romania; will have 11 full days to visit Bucharest, Constanta, Sighisoara, Brasov, and Sibiu.
Hotel bookings and car rental reservation are made; I have been practicing Pimsleur Romanian; I have a good road map of the country. While it will be somewhat cold, I am looking forward to seeing the scenery of the country and to being able to stop whenever I want to snap a picture. |
Romania? Please write a trip report! I'd love to read it.
Switzerland? We are searching for snow too. It's just too darn warm right now. We had a snowfall last week but it's melting fast. Very frustrating. |

I go back to Italy in mid-March, this time focusing on Tuscany (last time was mostly Umbria) and several days in Rome at the end.
Even more exciting than seeing some of my favorite cities again is that this time my husband and my mother, neither of whom have been to Europe, will be with me. They're both easy-going and get along wonderfully (we took her with us when we went back to Hawai'i last year), so it will be an absolute blast exposing them to the utter feast of senses that is central Italy. Then hopefully another trip to sunny, friendly, relaxing St. Martin! |
