Cortina, Italy Hotel

I have found a good website for a list of hotels in Cortina, but am looking for personal references to a hotel or very nice B&B. Any suggestions??

I've always stayed in the same hotel in several visits to Cortina because I liked it a lot. It's a great location in the center of town, with good service and a very good restaurant. The views from their upper balcony rooms are fantastic. It's the Hotel De La Poste. Don't know a web site or a phone number, but I'm sure you can find it. Good luck.

I've skied in Cortina D'Ampezzo 6 or 7 times, stayed in a few different hotels in town, and by far the nicest place to stay is the Hotel Ancora in the middle of town. The management speaks English, is very helpful, and strives to make all the guests feel special. The rooms are beautiful(get one on the second or third floor facing the church), the food is superlative, and the hotel is on the Corso Italia, and just a short walk to the Faloria lift -breathtaking skiing

Thanks Enrico. Hotel Ancora closes Sept. l3, about the time I'll be arriving. It's also a 4 star. Any ideas in the 3 star category??

Sorry, janemc, I thought you were planning a ski trip(the best reason to go to Cortina). Try the Hotel Cortina, or a quaint "pensione" called (I think) Hotel Meuble. Both comfortable and inexpensive. P.S.- the Ampezzo valley is beautiful any time of year!
