Columbus, OH to Paris, is $606 a good fare?

Any suggestions about where to find bargain airfare from Columbus, OH to Paris??? The rate I have found so far on Expedia is $606. Do you think I can do better?

Well, we were originally planning for next spring, but now I think I would like to go sooner, like in October. Fairly flexible about details, although I want to avoid any 15 hour flights. I read somewhere that a good strategy to get to Paris was to fly to London and make other arrangements once there, but the fare to London was $591...

There are direct and sometimes inexpensive flights to Paris from Atlanta, if the connection from Columbus to ATL is good.
A.M.
$606 is a decent fare from Columbus in October. You may do better if you are willing to drive to Detroit (I've gotten better rates on NW, KLM, British Air, and Lufthansa) or Cinci (Delta). My Detroit-London/Paris-Detroit flight last fall was $540 on NW.
Have a great trip,
j.

Been trying different departing cities and I found a direct flight from Pittsburgh for $553. I think that's how we are going to go. Thanks for the help.

I am wondering if this is sufficient interest in a Fodorites' get-together here in Columbus, Ohio (maybe early Novenber?) and so, I thought I would flush some of these recent "Columbus-referenced" threads to the top.

Best wishes,

Rex Bickers
Westerville, Ohio
Have you looked into package deals, with air and hotel? Places like gotoday.com have really cheap packages, for many european cities including Paris. For example, the Paris Winter Special which includes
Round trip airfare on available air carrier
• Round trip transfers
• 6 nights hotel accommodation
• Continental breakfast daily
• Hotel taxes and service charges
• One hour cruise on River Seine
• Welcome Packet including maps and information
Starts at $469 for the most economy hotel and goes up from there. All prices are based on leaving out of New York, Newerk or Boston, but you can for a fee of $120 leave from Columbus.

It is a good price for early fall or late Spring. If you get a good price to Philly, USAir has direct flights, usually good prices, direct flight to CDG.

On the last note, check out http://www.france-vacations.com. GREAT FALL, WINTER OR SPRING PACKAGES TO PARIS!!

Have you tried making a bid on Priceline? I also live in a city which is not a major hub, but got a much better price, especially as you seem flexible about dates.

topping, once again - - since there are some new Ohio people on this forum - - to throw out the idea of a (new ) Ohio get-together. Late March? or better to wait until May or June?

Rex Bickers
Westerville, Ohio
$606 does not sound so good to me for Oct.; have you tried going to www.usairways.com directly? I'm going for $353 from Pgh. end of Feb and think that fare was good up until Mar.20. I'd probably wait a while and see what pops up later for Oct.
