Chex Mix Assistance

I realize this falls in line with some of the sillier questions asked on a travel forum but thought you smart people could help.

I sent over a treat that I made for some friends in London called a Christmas mix. It is various chex mix cereals, peanuts, pretzels, m&m's - covered in white chocolate. Apparently it was a big hit and they want the recipe. When I explained it, they didn't know what chex mix was and didn't think they had it there.

Does anyone know if they have this cereal over there? I'm hoping it exists in the area and that it's my friends that are lacking in cereal knowledge.

And since I am prepared for the "and what does this have to do with travel question," here are some possibilities:

1. The Christmas mix itself TRAVELED from Florida to London.

2. If Chex Mix isn't there, I might have to TRAVEL to London with some boxes.

3. TRAVELING is FUN with Chex mix.

Ok, that's all. Thanks in advance.

Ok, so you're telling us that these Brits just gobbled this stuff up without looking at it? And none is left. They didn't say "oh look, it has peanuts and pretzels and <Britsh for Chex> and M&Ms and ... Brilliant!".

And about your explanation of how this is travel related, I am suspicious. How do you know that #3 is true if the Chex mix traveled solo?

mrwunrfl - I have previously travelled with Chex Mix. I declare, under penalty of perjury, that the foregoing reason no. 3 is true and correct!

My brother works for an airline. In the bid-ness the accumulation of M&M's, pretzel bits, hair, peanuts and lint that accumulates between the seat cushions is called "trail mix."

See, no need to make it yourself! When you flight arrives in London, just help the clean-up crew.

Yeck!

I think Shreddies may be a UK equivalent to Chex cereals.
And Smarties might work instead of the M&M's.
But you know, I really think you should just make your friends another big batch of your Christmas mix and deliver it in person.

By Jove, I think we've got it, thanks to starspinners. The following definitions come from a British to American translation guide:

Shreddies (breakfast cereal) n :
similar to Chex and Kellogg?s Crispix.
shreddies sl n :
manky or revolting men?s (boy?s) pants.

I have travelled with chex mix many times - on one trip to Mexico I would have starved without the chex mix and chocolate chip cookies we took.

Have you tried chex mix with the Hidden Valley Ranch dressing mix instead of the chex recipe? It's real good. You gather your "trail mix" from the airline seats and put in a bowl. Mix the dry HVR dressing mix with oil and garlic powder and chili powder. Mix together and poor over "trail mix" and bake like the chex recipe. Way better than the worcestershire recipe.
