Cheap hotel websites

I am looking for websites that give listings of hotels/pensions with special low rates in Europe. Most websites I've visited only list the major cities in Europe and not the smaller, more quaint cities/towns. Anyone have any clue?

I think each country's national tourism office/website could have links or direct you to listings of accommodations all over that country.

www.towd.com worldwide directory of tourism offices

For France, check out www.logis-de-france.fr - - most are quaint, bargain-priced, good value or some combination of all three.

Best wishes,

Rex
Keep looking, for example the above post on starting with national sites is good. Also from the national site look for regional sites. For example in planning an up coming trip to France I found some good sites for just Provence and it listed the web sites for a lot of B&Bs. So just keep diging.

Hi Steve!

Try <www.openroads.com> for France, Italy, Germany. This is an independent English-language site.

They break down your request by price, town/region and style of accommodation, so that you can really fine tune your search.

Only thing is, you need a good map by your side.

I came up with a very nice little studio apartment in Avignon through them.

Harzer

This is one of those ocassions it might be worth your while to place a call to the office of Tourism of the town, if you can't find a website. Whenever I've been on that situation, the local Office of Tourism have been the absolute best way to go.
