Castle "ruins" Tirol, Austria, Bavaria, Switzerland ?

Jump to last reply

When in UK 2 years ago my nieces loved wandering around the Castle ruins that we we went to ~ Kenilworth and Chepstow (also Tintern Abbey).

If we take a trip together in 2015, we are thinking of flying into Munich, staying a few days each near Berchtesgaden, Garmish Partenkirchen and Grindelwald, and maybe a day or 2 in Meersburg or Weggis. We could also dip down into the Dolomites area. We would fly home from Zurich.

We will of course do some of Ludwigs Castles, but the younger niece in particular would prefer ruins to walk around. We will have a car.

Any ideas?
