Cassis help please!
I am hoping someone out there is a Cassis "expert" and can help my fiance & I with lodging. Its our honeymoon and fiance wants a room with a view of the sea and access to a bit of beach. We need to stay under 180 Euros and would prefer 120ish. Jardin d'Emile doesn't have any sea view terrace rooms left (they are 130). Les Roches Blanches does for 180 Euros. As far as I can tell, no one (here or on other sites/books) has ever stayed anywhere else in Cassis. Anyone have knowledge of Hotel Mahogany next door to Jardin d'Emile (sea facing balcony 125)? Or anywhere else? Thank You For Any Help!

Hi. I seem to recall a similar question a month ago. Go to the search window above and type in Cassis. I think you'll get some information. The post (or posts) will appear at the left. You can read them and then return to the forum by clicking on Europe (in red).
At any rate, my post will bring your question back to the top.
Good luck.

we stayed in les roches blanches about 3 years ago - we also eat at Jardin d'emile which is just beside it. What can I say about les roches blanches?! Setting is magnificent - and we had a huge suite with the most incredible terrace and sea view. However, the hotel in general definitely had the feeling of being a little run down and garden areas/pool seemed a little uncared for. The staff were nice and friendly. Our room seemed to be one of the best in the hotel - and we spent most of our time in the hotel on our terrace. If we had not had such a great room and view I dont think we would have been happy with our stay there. I dont know if you are familiar with the Fawlty Towers TV series - but the place reminded us a little of the series!!
Jardin d'emile was very pretty - and just across the road from the sea. Anywhere in that area is v.close to the sea and its a pleasant location. I dont remember Hotel Mahogany.

I think Roches Blanches has been recently renovated. Their rooms have definitely been updated. We love it there and it was the highlight of our daughter's honeymoon. If 180 is the top of your budget, go for it. The pool alone is worth it.

When we arrived we had a large and lovely room of Provencal deep red and gold, brick floors, lovely products, and a bath. Oooh. The Mahogany was directly across the street from a wonderful beach, and the view was magnificent! We had an elegant dinner at the Mahogany?s sister hotel?s Jardin d?Emile restaurant right next door. I savored a most delicious vegetable flan and fish."" this is from someone's trip report.

A number of other little hotels have views of the harbor. You can see pictures of the Cassis hotels at:
http://www.cassis.fr/page_00008ba7.html
These three hotels are low-budget with terraces and harbor views -- probably not "honeymoon"-worthy
Le Golfe, Le Laurence and Le Liautaud have view rooms.
I'd check out Mahogany or Cassitel <[email protected]>
Good luck!
