Car Rental Portugal to Spain via Morroco
Has anyone rented a car in Portugal, ferried it to Morroco and back, and returned it in Spain? Is it done, and if so, cost effective?
My family of five adults is planning ten days beginning in Lisbon, driving south to Gibraltar then across to Morroco, and back to southern Spain to fly home from Barcelona.
Has anyone had a similar experience?
Thanks for any advice you can offer!

I doubt there is a car rental outfit in Europe that would allow you to transport a car to another continent, but even if there were, just renting in Portugal and dropping off in Spain is going to cost you a boodle.

You cannot take a rental car to Morocco. You could drop it off in Algeciras, go over to Morocco and pick up another, go back to Algeciras and pick up yet another car and drop it in Barcelona. There would be a drop-off fee for the Lisbon to Algeciras car but may be worth it. Don't bother with Gibraltar. There's nohting much there, and the line to get in is hours long. Spain and Gibraltar are, as usual, at war.

Thanks, everyone! I'm beginning to see how complicated that idea was, not to mention expensive!!
I'm now favoring the train, at least in Europe. I was trying to get an idea of prices at www.cp.pt, but it's not easy to navigate. Anyone know of a less complicated guide to Portugal's train system with prices?
Thanks again for your help!

This is the most accurate website being the national rail company website, you will not find prices elsewhere, as far as I am aware. You enter a few details, click on OK and the schedules appear. What difficulty do you have?
