Based on my brief overnight stay in Istanbul, this actually is a good question. Some businesses asked to be paid in US dollars, others Euro, and occasionally the Turkish lira.

I went to the Prague and Budapest last year. In the Czech republick many restaurants and shops accepted the Euro. In Budapest it is better to exchange the Euro is much stronger and the exchange was good. BEWARE- in Prague many little money exchanges will change your money but have a 20% commission that is hidden. I have travelled the world and am very savy. They change their scams and even I was cheated. Use the hotel , banks or other reliable sources to exchange.

I for one am in agreement with Fidel's amazement. After all the OP didn't ask just ask whether the Euro is accepted in these cities, she asked whether they each have their own currency...and then followed up by asking whether they need 3 different currencies. A little simple research...

Read an article in Radio Praha saying that 2010 was optimistic for conversion to the Euro in Cz Republic. Could be years later. I suggest stocking up on Koruna...

Been a while since I have been on this site. Last trip was to Turkey in 02. Wouldn't it be best to just use a major credit card for all purchases, food, hotel, etc.? My understanding is that this gives the best rate of exchange.
