Buying contact lens supplies in Europe

Here's a good one! I wear soft contacts and the cleansing system I use includes those big metal cans of non-preservative, buffered saline solution. I can manage the other solutions I need to clean my lenses, but I don't want to lug three or four cans of that saline along in my luggage (if I'd even be allowed to). So the question is: does anyone out there know whether there is an equivalent to this kind of saline solution in Scotland, Belgium and the Netherlands? Thanks (this was your Obscure Question of the Day!) ;-)

Europe is, I'm glad to say, not in the 3rd world... and you can buy every thing here you can in the US. (everything except penut butter M&M's.. I'd gladly swap some for saline !!.) You will have no problems finding contact lens cleaning solutions in even the smallest town/village drug stores. Wishing you a great trip. Hi, I wear gas permeable lens and my solution burst open in my cosmetic bag (pressure of the airplane compartment) and leaked everywhere. After that I kept it in a baggie (ziplock) I was on a little island in the Netherlands and couldn't find what I needed (gas perm stuff always scarcer than the soft lends stuff, even in US)) but they did have soft lens solution in the drug store on this little island so I think you'll be ok.

This does not have to do specifically w/solution, but a word to the wise...Two years ago while traveling in Ireland I lost a make up bag and in it was my contact lens case. Bring along a spare as it was hard to find a shop that carried lens cases, and when I finally did, it cost an arm and a leg.
