Buses vs Metro

see another recent thread called "Metro Day Passes in Paris". The passes can be used for both the Metro and the bus system, so you can use either depending on how you want to travel (fast but underground, or meander but have views). I think the other thread lays out all the purchase particulars, but just buy them when you get there not in the US (if that is where you're from).

The answer to the question is which city are you in? I think using the metro in Paris is easier than London because the distance you need to walk from the street to the train. Many will disagree but to some it matters. Even with the longer walk the train will get you there faster than the bus because of traffic. Paris and London both have one week passes. Just bring a photo. You will save a bundle.

Oh, sorry about that...so used to the nickname "Metro" being short for Metropolitain, the Paris subway.. All I can interject about Rome's subway is it is more of a 'cross-town' line, with 2 lines intersecting, and a few stops along the way, unlike the system in Paris which is more of a spiderweb and has numerous stops along all its lines. My coworker has been to Rome several times and finds walking and taking cabs to be the most efficient way to get around; Rome (as are other places) is rather notorious for its pickpocket situation on the buses... Hopefully, you will get more personalized info on this inquiry...
