Brussels or Amsterdam with kids?

We're planning our 2nd trip to Paris in June 2012. We went last summer to London/Paris with our 4 kids and had a great time. We are going back to Paris and thought about taking the train to either Brussels or Amsterdam for a few days. I just started researching these 2 cities, but am looking for some insight. What would be the better place to visit? Our kids are 16, 13, 11, & 8. We are very active and our kids are used to traveling. We usually get up early every day and go all day. My 16 yr. old daughter and I love to shop for clothes and shoes, as does my 8yr. Old. Our boys like to sightsee and love history and of course eat. If anyone can offer any suggestions I'd appreciate it. Thanks in advance!

That's a tough call - I love them both. But if eating is a priority, I'd have to go with Brussels.

Thanks for the reply. My husband and I are always looking for different types of food, and 2 of the kids are somewhat adventurous in that department. The kids could survive on chocolate if worse comes to worse. Lol.
