In May I am traveling from the US to Venice via Brussels. Unfortunately due to a travel itenerary change we arrive in Brussels at 715am and our pm flight is not until 3:30 pm. Do we have enough time to venture into central Brussels and have lunch? Or is it a better idea to check into a hotel near the airport and nap to avoid jetlag once we're in Venice? Any thoughts welcome!

There are trains to Brussels from the airport about every 20 minutes and I think that it takes about half an hour to get to Centraal Station. Stroll about the square and visit the Piss to stay awake. Restaurants should be open for lunch at about noon so you have plenty of time for a bucket of mussels and a mug of beer before going to Venice. If it was me I'd skip Venice and go over to Amsterdam, the "Venice of the North."
