I can get a better airfare booking separately but since this is my first trip to Ireland will I have problems negotiating transportation to and from the airport if I don't take the total package.
Does BMIT have a good reputation.
Thanks

Winne,
Brian Moore is one of the established tour groups to ireland however if you can get a better airfare seperate from the trip take it and then just use public transport to and from the airport (is it Dublin that you are planning to fly into ?) You could also take a book tour of Ireland using any number of tour companies - one of the longest established and higly reputable is CIE - see www.cie.ie for more details.
Hope this helps you, enjoy your holiday,

Cathy

by all means let bmt do the whole thing.
i am about to take my second and third
tours with them. they are a class act
and take care of you every step of the
way. if you book yourself and something
happens, you can be stuck. when i went
last year, one couple booked themselves.
they ended up getting shunted all over
eastern europe and had no luggage for
several days. if there are flight delays and bmt books you they will be
there waiting. if you book - too bad.
which trip are you taking and when?
sonya

Thanks to both of you for your comments. We hope to take Irish Spree the first week in August. This is my first trip outside the USA and we are so looking forward to it. Our travel agent suggested doing it all throught the tour company because our last stop will be about 75 miles from Shannon Airport and might propose a problem with transportation. Thanks again, I now have peace of mind.
Winnie,
Depends on how much you would like to spend - Top of the range are Chapter One on Parnell Sq (underneath the Writer's Museum - just off O'Connell St)and McGrattans in the Lane on Baggott St Dublin 2 (southside). Avoid place in Temple Bar that advertise Irish food - most are a ripp off although Gallagher's Boxy House at the edge of Temple Bar (just off Westmorland St) is quite good. For the chepaest and best fish meal in Dublin go to Burdochs near Christchurch - a take away fish and chip shop with the best fish in the city.

Hope this helps

Cathy
