Bilbao

We will pass through Bilbao, mostly wanting to take a day trip hiking at San Juan de Gaztelugatxe. Is there a better town to sleep at for two nights than Bilbao? Or is Bilbao the best place to stay? thank you.

What other interest do you have? Bilbao has it all, but you can stay in Bakio, which is closer to San Juan de Gaztelugatxe.

Bilbao has a lot to do in it. I'd recommend at least two nights.

It depends on what you´re looking for. Bilbao is a (very nice) city...not a big one, though. If you prefer a quieter place, you have Bakio, Plentzia, Getxo, Mundaka, Gernika, Elantxobe...smaller towns that can also be used as departing points to San Juan de Gaztelugatxe.
