best way to go from berchtesgaden to zurich HB
Hi,
what is the best way to go from berchtesgaden to zurich HB?
If I have a German rail pass for 10 days within a month, how much more do I have to pay if i take a train from Munich to Zurich?
Thanks.

The "Rail" answer (to start):
Berchtesgaden to Zuerich takes 6 to 7 hours.
Bus Berchtesgaden to Salzburg Hbf, walk <5 minutes to adjacent RR station and train Salzburg to Zuerich.
www.bahn.de lists the price Munch Hbf to Zuerich Hbf as 70 E without german railpass; I'm not sure what your reduction would besince you are covered to the swiss border...Trip takes 5 to 6 hours.
Sparangebote (special sale tickets with restrictions) may be available for 39 E for a limited time.
Probably best to email www.bahn.de with cost question...

Further investigation finds Ulm to be your last German stop by most trains before entering Switzerland at Frauenfeld and Schaffhausen. Konstanz is the closest German border town, so it would be reasonable to estimate your cost as Konstanz to Zuerich, which is only 20 E!! (My best guess).

Between Ulm and Schaffhausen Singen is the last stop on the German side. If you take the direct EC train between München and Zürich Lindau would be the last stop in Germany, followed by a quick ride through Austria and entering Switzerland in St. Margrethen - too expensive IMO.
Singen to Zürich is CHF 23. With German Rail Pass even a little less (mention to the clerk when buying in München).
