Best airline for business class to Paris
We are looking to buy tickets in business or first class but I want the seats to fully recline and for the flight to be worth the price. Anyone have any suggestions? Thanks, Sobster

Well, if you are actually willing to pay for first class, then I'd look at Air France. If you are scared off by $10k price-tags, and are more interested in business class, then the Biz Bed from OpenSkies would be a decent choice, depending upon your departure city. Continental offers flat beds on their 777s and 757s, so they would be someone to look at. United has flat beds on many flights, too. Alternatively, you could connect through London, where most of the major players (except American) offer flat beds.
Air France is okay in biz, but does not offer flat beds. Ditto for Delta.

We fly business class with American Airlines. The seats do lie flat and are quite comfortable; one also gets a real pillow and a duvet. The experience is not the same as on Austrian Airlines, which was the best ever, but certainly good enough.

To find out whether the seat fully recline or not, you can use several resources to IMPROVE the odd of getting what you want.
First you must find out following parameters:
1. airline name
2. the equipment model, e.g. A330
3. the variation withing the major model A330-200, etc
4. the seat configuration variation within a specific model
The first two items are usually available at most booking sites. The item 3 is provided by some booking sites but not always. The item 4 is never given outright. You must do some detective work.
To find out the model variation (3) and seat configuration variation (4), you need to use resources that shows you the seat choice chart. Without this, you cannot go further easily.
Look at how the Business/First/Economy classes are configured; how many rows, how left, center, right sections are configured.
Compare what you see against the seat variations at www.seatguru.com,etc or at some airline sites that show you seat configurations. You should have a pretty good match.
Use www.seatguru.com or other resources to find out the type of seats and what people think about these seats.
Even after you have done all these research, the airlines can substitute another equipment or cancel the flight altogether and put you on equipments with just plain seats...
