Hello again!!! <BR> <BR>Anyone feel that this area merits a two day stay? I would base myself in Dijon and take a day trip to Beaune. Any thoughts? Recommendations? <BR> <BR>Thanks. <BR>Ross.

Hi Ross, I am going there next spring and will spend 2 nights/3 days in Beaune. Staying in Beaune rather than Dijon to avoid the "big city". We will get a car and drive around the area. From what I read about, the area is very nice and scenic. Hope this helps! <BR>Linda

If you like wine, this is the place. We spent time there in September. Our itinerary was 3 nights outside of Beaune at a wonderful chateau called Chateau Chorey les Beaune. 6 rooms, modern bathrooms, excellent full breakfast, and they make their own wine. Then one night in Gevrey Chambertin, and one nite in Dijon. Both Beaune and Dijon are one day cities, but we spent most of our time in the countryside visiting the numerous wineries. Oh and did I mention the food in Burgundy is incredible.

We spent one night between Beuanne and Dijon in early September as a stopover between Provence and Paris. I don't recall the name of the town but we stayed on an anchored barge which was a lot of fun - dining with the owner and two other couples (one English and the other Belgium). The owner of the barge is Dutch and we are American and Scottish. Great fun. <BR> <BR>The barge is located near a great town -Chateauneuf en Auxois. We had time to visit this 12th century town on a hilltop. Very charming, one of the most beautiful villages in France (I am starting to wonder how many towns receive this designation). Definately a spot I would like to return to and spend an evening. <BR> <BR>We did not get into Beaunne but the owner of the barge recommended it over Dijon as being more small town with great wine tasting. <BR> <BR>
