Bath Area???
We are flying into Gatwick next week and were hoping to explore the Bath area for several days but cannot find a hotel/B&B to stay. Does anyone have any suggestions about other places to visit within several hours of Gatwick that would be interesting and might have available accommodations? Thank you for any comments!

Owv - Bath is full of hotels/B&B's. Have you tried booking on:

Hope this helps ...

P.S As an alternative, consider nearby Bradford-on-Avon.

it is August and you are going next week. That is cutting things VERY short. I would suspect that most places recommended on here is probably booked up.
The same would go for Bath/Bradford-on-Avon, or the Cotswolds, or Kent or any populer tourist area.
No that there are no rooms available - but maybe not in any specific place we mention.
I would contact the Bath Tourist Information Center (TIC) directly. I don't have there phone number or e-mail at hand but it should be easy to find. Call or e-mail them and have them find you a place. They will know who has rooms and can call around to find a place if need be. Tell them your price range and type of room you want. If there are truly no rooms available they will let you know.
Let them do the hunting - instead of you contacting 15 B&B looking for a room . . . .

The website I gave above is the Bath Tourist Office site. You can book accm online.
It also lists their e-mail ([email protected]) and telephone numbers.

Hi. We loved Fern Cottage in Monkton Farleigh. It is close to both Bath and Bradford-on-Avon. I can't access their website, but perhaps you can check availability with at bath.org, or you could phone Christopher or Jenny Valentine at the phone number listed for the B & B. It's a lovely hamlet. Good pub. J.
