Planning a River cruise Basel to Amsterdam. Want to do a pre cruise extension. Options are Basel or Lucerne. Lucerne is more expensive. Would Lucerne give us much more of a feeling of Switzerland?

Luzern is pretty, especially on the waterfront. and with the mountains close by, but Basel has more museums from a music museum in the former prison to the Fondation Beyeler's modern art collection.
