Base in Mittenwald or Seefeld

After spending a few days in Garmisch (summer or fall) , we were thinking of moving to a smaller alpine village for a few days. Focus would be in doing some easy hikes and relaxing. Mittenwald and Seefeld came to mind. They look to be fairly close to each other and easy to move between using bus or or train. Looking for feedback on the pros and cons of each location.

We based in Seefeld in December for five nights - had a great time, lots of snow. One day we took the bus to Mittenwald for lunch. We'd been years ago, but were curious as to how it had changed. Had a good day there too.

It's all good, but because you'll have been in Garmisch, I'd think Seefeld might be a better option. It'd give you a taste of Austria.

They are too close to each other in my opinion. Not worth the hassle of moving. The scenery isn't all that different. If moving, think about Stubai valley, which is on the other (southern) side of the Inn valley. Easy to get there from Garmisch - train via Mittenwald-Seefeld to Innsbruck, bus or tram from there to Fulpmes or Neustift.

Ingo, appreciate you advancing that option.

Melnq8, seeing a bit of Austria would be nice.
