danon, sorry I cant answer that, I was inquiring for my sister and now cant get a response from her.
She is going to Barcelona with her husband and wanted somewhere nice, I guess in a popular area.

They´ve got some flats around the city centre area, too.

Hope it helps!

sally,
some people like an area called EL Born
( trendy, hip, many bars and restaurants, may appeal to younger crowd).
another popular area is Eixample ( more upscale, elegant shops, expensive hotels and restaurants)
In any case, Barcelona is easy to walk around ; the metro is great and cheap.
The very center of Barcelona is Placa de Cataluya...
(that may give them an idea...)

We stayed in between Placa de Catalunya and the Universidad and loved the location. Easy walks to almost anywhere and near many metro lines. Our hotel was Inglaterra which is a very nice, moderately priced hotel. The breakfast is great. We got the best deal we could find at the time on their website, with breakfast included.

The one area I'd recommend NOT to stay in is anywhere along Las Ramblas.

Download maribel's guide for barcelona at www.maribelsguides.com. It has some very useful information.
