Bamberg Hotel & Bus Question

Would welcome any views on Hotel Weireich in Bamberg compared with the Brudermuehle or the Gastehaus Steidle. Need space for three people. Also, does anyone know if there is a bus from the train station to the old city area of these hotels (all seem close to the Dom)? Many thanks.

We stayed at the Hotel Weireich in October 2007, and thoroughly enjoyed our stay. We were travelling for our 30th wedding anniversary, which I happened to mention to the hotel in one of my e-mails. Well they remembered, and served us complimentary champaigne with breakfast on the last morning we were in Bamberg. What a pleasant treat for us!

We took a taxi from the train station to the hotel. I think the charge was only around Euro 10.00.

The Die Bahn website will give you the bus numbers but not the price;

http://reiseauskunft.bahn.de/bin/query.exe/en

Start________Station/Stop____Bamberg Bahnhof
Destination__Address_________Lugbank 5, Bamberg

After it gives you the connections, select "Show details for all"

We walked it but it is farther than most jaunts from the city center to the train station. I think that it is 1.30 euros per person.

I believe that it is the Hotel Weierich that you mean on Lugbank.

Thanks to you both. Yes, Gary, it is the one on Lugbank.

We stayed at the Brudermuehle and enjoyed it very much. Staff members were very helpful, and the included breakfast was excellent. It's on the bank of the river, and our room had a great view of the famous old city hall.
