Austrian Airlines

MY United mileage is getting us flights on Austrian Airlines. I have never heard of them- anyone with any knowledge or experience with them? Thanks for all your help. AS evident from all my recent posts I am in the throes of heavy planning.

I too am using United miles for Austrian Air. I have looked at reviews of the airline and they seem to do pretty well. You can check on www.airlinequality.com for recent passenger reviews.

IMO one of the better European airlines. I don't like their dark green seats, but apart from that, they are far above average!
Enjoy your trip.

What are your concerns? It's a national airline.

I flew them on a short flight from Vienna to Prague, absolutely nothing memorable to report, which when it comes to airlines I think is good.

Austrian Air is as good as any major airline, and probably better than several. I've flown Austrian Air out of Vienna a few times and have found it to be quite satisfactory--every bit the equal of any U.S. airline.

"...every bit the equal of any U.S. airline."

Damn. That's what I was afraid of.

Anyway, I'm just glad to know that there are othe United co-frequent flyer collectors who will be travelling on the same airline as we do. Anyway, I used my miles for a week of driving holiday in Southern Italy via Austrian Air this summer.

Had a great experience using United miles on Austrian Airlines. On time/no problems with luggage/super friendly gate agents~flight attedants/edible food. You should have a good experience.

I have flew with Austrian Airline to/from Vienna to North America several times, last time was 10 days ago.

From the experience of my last 4 flights: the service and food are better than average, much newer planes, and arrived on time/earlier
