appropriate jacket for Switzerlin (Vengen) in July

We are traveling to Switzerland at the end of July. What type of jacket/pants are appropriate?

End of July can be the hottest time of the year but at high altitude it could get cold. I would take short pants, long pants, t-shirts, a wind-breaker, and a light fleece jacket or alike, for various weather.

Are you going only up to Wengen (presuming that is what you meant by Vengen)? I only needed a wind-breaker in July in Wengen.

If you are going higher to Jungfrau, you want at least a light fleece. There is snow on the ground...

I'd go with a polartec for warmth (also handy on chilly airplanes) and wind-breaker for water/wind proof. Sometimes, you'll probably appreciate having both.

My thought exactly. Once I hiked in the area in a rainny day in summer and was happy to have a fleece and wind-breaker over it.
