Anyone familiar with the Crowne Plaza London (St. James)

My husband and I will be staying at the Crowne Plaza London (formerly the St. James) in September. I have visited their web site and the hotel looks very nice, but I can't find any write-ups in any of the travel books/hotel recommendations. Has anyone stayed there or know anything about the hotel?

This hotel used to be called the St. James hotel. Located next to Buckingham Palace. Great location and very nice property.

My husband and I stayed at the Crowne Plaza St. James both times we were in London. Great location 3 blocks from Buckingham Palace and 2 blocks from the tube. Walking distance from Victoria Station as well as Parliment, Westminster Abbey and the London Eye. Modern, comfortable rooms with air conditioning. The Cafe Mediterranee is excellent. Breakfast buffet in the Bank Restaurant is mediocre, but good service. (Both restaurants are pricey.) We give the hotel a high recommendation. Have a great ime!

I forgot, the concierge is great and will get you tickets to almost anything you can think of. He got us front row tickets to Phantom of the Opera!

We love the place, but haven't stayed there since it became a Crowne Plaza (formerly part of the Raj group.) Really a beautiful place, good location (very quiet at night - not a lot of street activity right around the hotel). I believe a couple of movies have used the hotel and the neighboring apartment property, such as a few scenes in "Enchanted April," maybe some others.

Thanks to everyone who replied. I feel much better about our hotel choice.
