Diane, I think half of us are! I know I go into withdrawal if something keeps me off the board for more than 24 hours. I'm going on 3 trips in the next 4 months, and don't want to spend vacation time in cybercafes. Will I start having withdrawal symptoms during my trips?

An electrical storm took out my computer last Sunday night and it was Thursday before I could get someone out to repair it. No e-mail, no French TV news and, worst of all, NO FODOR'S! I felt like a drug addict going cold turkey.

Hi Linda
Don't look at it as withdrawal, just think of it a a rehab program, so that when you fall off again, it's back to rehab. Enjoy your trips.
alan

Glad I'm not alone, I'm new to this site but really enjoying it. Everyone seems so eager to help and give information. We're going to Italy in September and can't wait.

Thanks to Fodor and everyone for such a
great site.

Of course. In fact I hear my husband pacing around upstairs and suspect it's time for me to log off...On the other hand, this forum was invaluable in planning our super-successful Italy trip this past May. He knows some of our best tips came from here!

All the "regulars" are (obviously) and some of us new 'fodorites" too!
Long after my vacation has gone, i will be on these boards as I find them fascinating. Last night for example, I learned from "Walter" exactly where Julius Caesar was murdered (in depth).
How can you beat that? LOL

Alan, thanks for the encouragement. Unfortunately, one of my trips is to Grand Forks ND. (Have you ever been there? If not, don't bother.) The one redeeming factor is that I will be seeing my sons and my 2-year-old grandson. (I'm only 29 now--I started really young!) I don't look on the trip so much as travel as a family reunion. The other 2 are to San Francisco and to Spain. Now, there's travel! Thank you again.

Diane (jcammal) - - when and where are you in Italy in September? Any interest in a "meet-up" with the fall Fodorites' trip (Sep 19-Oct 2). More info about our itinerary at www.rexbickers.italy.com - - still trying to decide our first two nights; then Sep 22-29 on the shores of Lake Garda, and Sep 30-Oct 2 (or 3) in Rome.

Best wishes,

Rex
My wife is an addict to this site, but at least it's cheaper and safer than drugs Plus it is a HUGE help in planning trips, especially the one to France that we just did. I give credit to people who write huge reports on where they went!

Hello, my name is Barry and I'm a Fodorholic. I see Paris hotel names in my sleep for the past 4 weeks. The scary part is what am I gonna do when I get back from my rehab.

I started a journal/diary last year, and I just looked back at the first entry a couple of days ago. The first line was, I'm having fodors.com withdrawal...
(I had lapsed on paying for my internet service.)
Some of us have been facing this addiction longer than others.

Well I get abused and "stalked" especially on the USA thread so I am either crazy or an addict.

Addict it is!

Oaktown

It is 12:56am<according to my computer clock> and I am STILL reading! This is a fantastic site . Kind of like "show and tell". It's a nice place to share without feeling like you are "Showing off".
I have answered a few and learned a lot! Thanks to all of you who use this site. Nancy
