No, you do not have to absolutely love Paris to remain a member of Fodor's.

Yes, it would be very smart of you to NOT write a trip report telling us how much you despised your trip to Paris.

Great thread, now if we could only find a way to keep it perpetually at the top and add an auto answer...but then things would be awfully quiet around here.

Yes that's the way, they do it here, your a guest, adjust!

Keep looking and you'll eventually find a button, handle, chain or knob to flush the toilet.

No, two people don't go to the bathroom at the same time. It's a bidet.

The euro will probably continue to fall unless something happens to make it go up.

Good point.

Answer:

Please don't lick the bottle if your host hoists the wine out of the bidet.

Expect a foreign country to be .... you know, foreign. It's why you took the trip.

RE: elaine's advice:
"Leave your complete itinerary with one or two reliable people at home."

Questioner, since you ask:

Reliable people, by Fodorites' assessment, are people who write itinerary. Shady people are those who write -- or say -- itinery. Damn, that makes me go nucular!!

No, misspelling itinerary as itinery is not an indication of shadiness.

No matter what They say, you Can and Should take several pairs of shoes!
Yes, Zip lock bags are great for packing all sorts of things.

No, only Italians are able to drive a Vespa, drink an espresso, have a cigarette and talk on their cell phone at the same time.

Yes, they are not wearing deodorant.

Yes, the Germans are the ones with the short shorts.

That red light/stop sign was merely discretionary.

You can find the train schedule at [insert country's train website here].

Yes, you have to be drawing Social Security to enter Chianciano Terme.

You are trying to see too many cities in too short a time.

"I'm with stupid" does not translate well into any language, English included.

490. Wearing a fanny pack in the Florence train terminus in July might
make you more susceptible to pickpockets.

491. Yes, festooning yourself with all
the diamonds you brought from home might
make you more vulnerable to thieves.

492. If you want help ask for adviCe;
if you are giving help - adviSe.
