not germane to your question but this week is the busiest tourist week of the year in Amsterdam - be sure to reserve your hotel NOW - a few years back i tried to reserve anything in early December and all was full practically except for the very high end places.
A joyous time to be in town as folks from all over Europe flock here to have a good time.

yes, we've already reserved a bed and breakfast. we new everything would be booked and pricy if we waited too late. i actually just googled bed and breakfasts and found a lot of sites. We ended up going with one of those - its was sent as a recommendation for a b and b owner who was booked. I found the owners of the b and b's responded fairly quickly when contacted. we're going with a large group and most everyone has gone with this options of b and b's - its cheaper and breakfast is included
