Airfare to germany

I will be travelling to Germany from Newark, NJ to Frankfurt or Stutgart end of August or Early Sept. for a 4-6 week stay.
Any suggestions on getting a good airfare? Is it better to wait or purchase now? Does anyone know about calling an airline at midnight on Tuesdays for the best fare?

I came up with an airfare of around $800 for a late August departure from EWR to FRA and a mid October return on Continental. This sounds like a reasonable fare for this time of year. I certainly don't think I would wait much longer as my experience with airfares to Europe is that they do not go down as you get closer to your departure date but only go up.

Have you tried www.autoeurope.com? I haven't used them for flights to the Continent, but I've always found amazing airfares to the UK on there (and on major airlines, too!). The customer service was always friendly, too.

If you find a fare that fits your needs (quite a bit depends on how flexible you can be), and seems affordable to you - - then I would urge you to buy it. The likelihood of sale fares coming along to offer you a substantial discount for Aug/Sep - - this far into the summer... seems quite improbable to me.

Best wishes,

My husband and I usually get our tickets to and from Germany here:
http://www.nonstoptravel.net/

They have really good specials and the travel agents are very nice and friendly.

Bettymae, Try going to LTU.com they are a German airline flying from JKF. I know that Newark is easy (I live in NJ) From Sept 12 the fare is $498 weekdays.I would guess if you took a limo to and from it would be cheaper still then going out of Newark. If you try to get an airfare for Aug you will be paying top dollar, I think the airlines are selling there seats pretty well this summer even with the exchange rate not in our favor.
