accomodation suggestions
During Christmas and New Years we will be traveling between Frankfurt and Munchen. We'd like to be in Rothenburg for New Years Eve (unless there are other suggestions-we are open)
and are curious if anyone has accomodation suggestions. Any help is most appreciated.

Try www.Rothenburg.de But I would be careful about the hotel's location during that time of year. Because some of the streets are very narrow, I suspect the streets would be very dangerous if there is snow /ice on the ground. I would recommend staying outside of the wall for this reason since the streets are much wider outside of the wall...

Two suggestions for Rothenburg:
MARKUSTURM HOTEL: Beautiful spot. Pictured on the cover of some tour books. Nice people and not that expensive. You will not be disappointed in this hotel.
REICHS KUCHENMEISTER: Another favorite of ours. Ask for a room in the old building. The hotel is located next to St Jacobs Church and very close to the town square. Good restaurant also even if you do not stay there.
Just thought of #3: BURG HOTEL: Not located as centrally as the other two, but still a nice place, good rooms and good service.
Hope this helps. Rothenburg is touristy, but one of our favorite stops when in Germany. Been going there since 1970 while stationed in the Army. Enjoy.

I'm not sure if you were asking for suggestions about Frankfurt. We stayed at the Sheraton Frankfurt Airport prior to our flight. Thanks to someone on this board I booked it through the reservations service at the airport for less that I could find it myself.

Thanks to all-so far. Yes our primary concern is Rothenburg-we have to be somewhere for New Years Eve so why not a quaint (if not touristy) medievel town. We are looking forward to this, but thanks to all of your wonderful experiences we would also be open to other opportunities (in that area) for a New Year experience.
