accademia ticket reservations

what is the easiest way to reserve tix for the accademia in florence? Is there an internet site? Call by phone? How long ahead do you need to book? Is there a best time of day to avoid huge crowds? Our choices are wed/thurs first week October

the only way to reserve (Uffizi also) is by phone- 055 29 48 83 it's open 8:30 -6:30 their time.

I just did this on Monday, I had to call a few times before I got in the queue but once I did it was very easy. They speak english and you don't pay until you pick up the tickets.

They were booked up about 1 week prior. You get a timed entrance.

You can also ask your hotel to reserve ahead for you.

I booked my reservations for the Accadamia in 2005 from a website. It asked what time I wanted to go and on what day and printed out a ticket which I then gave to the ticketmaster at the entry.

Was able to walk right in avoiding all lines.

It was charged to my credit card. If I can find the website I will reply with it.

Easiest way is to have your hotel book the Accademia, and the Uffizi, for you, if the hotel will offer that service complimentary to you. It's a very small charge and you don't pay until you arrive at the museums.

I decided not to use the Web site because (a) you're stuck with the ticket if you can't make it and (b) there was a steep surcharge for using the Web.

The phone contact is the way to go.

our hotel made the reservations for us and it ended up being cheaper than using the online sites to do it ourselves.

Hi,

I called exactly a month before and around noon (italian time) and was able to pick any time I wanted.

Ask your hotel to do it for you - we stayed at hotel accademia in florence and they made reservations for us at both accademia and uffizi. very convenient and very accomodating.
