The Saints Giovanni e Paolo church. The foot of St. Catherine of Sienna was there plus a very beautiful Mary chapel. And seeing the sky at dusk and sunset, just magical!

While riding the vaporetto, chatting with an elderly gentleman who was born in Venice between the two world wars.

Listening to the music every evening in Piazza San Marco.

Sitting on the steps of a little bridge over a canal, drinking wine, eating snacks, and watching people go by at this popular place:

Watching little kids play soccer in a little cobblestoned piazza.

Wandering the back streets and getting lost, spotting kitties in windows looking out.

Enjoying the muted/faded colors of the buildings.

Watching workers do their jobs with boats: Plumbers/painters, the UPS delivery boat going by, a McDonald's supply boat.

Going to the Foundry Valese on the day they were sand-casting many bronze articles. It was hot and dirty, but a wonderful experience.

Hearing the Venetian Gospel group sing in the Frari; what a double treat that was.

Meeting a nonno (grandpa) walking his twin grandchildren (in their stroller), in 2011, and then meeting them again a year later in the same Campo (Santa Margherita).

Being invited into the Squero Tramontin and just watching the 2 men at work on a gondola and sandola.

Oh, dear, one should always preview, that's what the function is for! The Gospel group is the Joy Singers ... they're blissful.
