opaldog,

I'm not familiar with either of the B & Bs in question, but should things not work out with those accommodations, do consider the folowing two places, both of which are closely situated to Lawndale and Clarke's:

Norman Villa (www.sawdays.co.uk), located in Lower Salthill, is a most distinctive accommodation, and is priced at about euro 40 per person.

Old Parochial House (www.oldparochialhouse.com) is situated in Cooraclare (near Kilrush), and it features four rooms, priced at about euro 25 per person. Here you'll meet a good many farm animals, and have the option to enjoy the self-catering stables.

Best of luck.

Hello opaldog...Yes, we have stayed at Mary Clarke's BandB(Bruach na Ciolle) in Kilrush, and are booked again for May. Lovely home, very warm welcome with tea, coffee, home baked "goodies" upon arrival. In our e-mail reply from Mary in February, she wrote that both their "mums were not well (they are in Galway), but if anything happens, I will get you accommodations next door". Which sounds okay with us.
http://www.clarkekilrush.com/
They are a short 10 minutes from the Killimar ferry to Tarbert.Hope this is of some help...Happy and Safe Travels...Helen
