How much does it cost for a ticket at the gate to xcaret vs an excusion ticket from the ship (Mercury)? What do you recomend? <BR>Thanks,Judy

I went to xcaret in December aboard the Mercury. And you basically get a bus trip back and forth from the ship which only takes about 5-10 minutes. <BR> <BR>I do recommed swimming with the dolphins at xcaret. It is not included in the excursion cost but it was worth it. We did a 1/2 hour swim and it cost about $80 but was great. <BR> <BR>Have fun on the ship. It is beautiful. <BR>

We cruised on the Mercury last november 1. When we got to Calica we bought a round trip taxi fare from the stand just off the ship and drove into Playa del Carmen. The driver let us out just in front of a beautiful little mall- we shopped a bit then started walking-we after about 3-4 blocks we found a resort hotel-walked thru the lobby and out to their beach. It was quiet, peaceful, beautiful and cheap-I think the taxi ride was $10. . . .And we wer're stuck in an 'ecological' park that makes you buy their sunblock and snacks. . . .you can't take anything into Xcaret.
