tux

will be traveling to Bermuda in April/May on the Zenith. What percentage of men will be wearing a tux? Should my husband really pack his tux for formal nights, a suit for informal, and sport coat for casual?
Are jeans allowed at any time?
Thanks.

Anna,
Your husband can get away with a dark suit for formal nights (they allow this on the QE 2 so I'm sure it's allowed everyewhere), but if you have the tuxedo, why not bring it? It adds a lot of fun and glamour to the evening, and aboard ships is one of the few places one can really get "decked out" without feeling silly or pompus!

If one has a tux definitely bring it.

Bermuda sailings have a much older crowd and quite a few men wear tuxes.

Paul

Thanks Michael and Paul. I guess I'll be packing his tux.

I agree with the previous emails, bring your tux. My husband rented one to take with us and had an opportunity to wear it twice so it was worth it. It does lend towards making the cruise more special. My husband also brought a sports jacket and pants for informal nights. I don't recall jeans being acceptable in the dining rooms except maybe during day hours.
