sing-alongs

A few years ago on a Princess cruise to the Panama Canal there was an entertainer/pianist who conducted the sing-alongs on that cruise. His name was Barrington (Barty) Brown. He was an excellent entertainer and people would have to show up ultra early to get a seat in the lounge where he did the sing-alongs.

My question is: Does anyone know if he still works on cruise ships and if so, which ones?

Thanks for any help.

Lydel,
This board in relatively quiet. I suggest going to cruisecritic.com and posting on the Princess board- or any of the rest of them for that matter. If anyone's seen him, they'll be happy to share with you.

Lydel, Yikes!!!! My husband and I were on a Princess cruise thru the Panama canal maybe three years ago too. We were two people who would get to the lounge early to get seats for the piano entertainment. Have been looking for him and on every cruise we have taken since( probably 5 or 6) we think of him and wish we could find him. We feel he set a high standard for piano lounge entertainers, and have been mostly disappointed on every cruise with the generally boring and drab lounges. What fun we had each night before dinner. He was a hoot!Hope you have luck locating him and will post here if you do.

I'm not familiar with Barty Brown but there is another entertainer whom I've enjoyed that sounds similar. His name is Perry Grant. You might keep your eyes open for him. I saw him on HAL but I've heard he's now with Radisson.

Lydel, Just checked my photo album, it was Feb 2000 on the Crown. My husband says that he didn't think that was the name of our piano player. Kind of heavy set guy, a little flamboyant, kept us laughing. Sound right??

Search Google for exact phrase "Barty Brown" (advance search) and you'll see he's still cruising.

Hi,
I haven't searched much for Barty yet but my sister-in-law and brother-in-law went on a Panama Canal cruise with Princess that left from Fort Lauderdale last October and he was on that cruise.
Barty, as he prefers to be called, isn't especially heavy-set but his outstanding feature is his full head of snow white hair.

My wife and I first heard Barty Brown on the Dawn Princess in the caribbean, we saw him again on the Golden Princess in Southampton, England. We were in Alaska on 9/11 and he was on the Sea Princess, we were on the Regal Princess. Yes he is still doing his sing alongs.
