Hi, I just booked my cruise on Infinity to Alaska.I would love to hear some opinions on the Infinity. Also has anyone cruised on Infinity to Alaska? Which excursions did you do? Thanks, Karrie

I thought the service on the Infinity was outstanding - could not have been better - and the cabin was lovely. Food was ok. I liked the way waiters often took our trays when leaving the breakfast buffet line-up and led us to a table. At night the waiters were attentive, friendly and funny, better than on the Holland America cruise I was on. We really enjoyed the butler service too. Entertainment was disappointing.

We took the early seating for dinner but for this trip I think I would have preferred the later one. We had tea at 4:30 or so and weren't that hungry by 6:00 and in Skagway in particular we would have preferred to have stayed longer in town. We took the White Pass train trip from there.

The tramway just by the ship docks in Juneau is fun. There is a shop at the top, walking trails and nice views.

Yes, since the sun sets so late it is best to eat late.

The tramway is great but the Indians charge an awful lot of money. Do not book it off the ship, buy tickets at the tram. It is very often fogged in.

Paul

I took the Infinity in June. It was beautiful. The ship was amazing, and food was amazing. The entertainment lacked a little, but it wasn't too bad.
My biggest recommendation is...take a balcony cabin!! When we went to Hubbard Glacier, we sat on our balcony and had a front row seat. We ordered room service and just enjoyed the view. We hear all the people in regular rooms were having a hard time finding that perfect seat to enjoy the views. The rest of the cruise, we had great views too.

In Skagway, I did gold panning, which was awsome. They put on a little show first and it was so funny. Then we drove up the Klondike trail. I did hear the train was great too.

Ketchikan, I didn't do an excursion, but my roomate did. ( I was on a travel agent seminar at sea, so I really didn't know her, so we did a lot of things on our own) She went on mountain canue (I can't spell that but you know what I mean) she said it was amazing and they could see animals.
