Just returned from Galaxy - Great!

We just returned from the Southern Caribbean on the Galaxy and it was great. The service was wonderful and the food was the best we have had except maybe on the Mercury. I think we are becoming dedicated to Celebrity. Haven't tried the Mill. yet though. St. Lucia was beautiful. The ship has lots of nice little quiet areas to visit with new friends. The afternoon teas were lovely. Good music everywhere. Good entertainment. We were on a waiting list for late seating and were able to get moved so that was nice. The schedule would have been okay for early seating though. Just thought you might like the input if anyone is choosing a ship and needs a bit of info.

Hi Diane,
We will be on the Galaxy Dec.23. We also wanted late seating and got main. We are wait-listed for late seating. How hard was it to get it changed. On other ships we've had to go back and wait in line three or four times! Don't feel like wasting "relaxing" time on that!
Did you take any good shore excursions or visit any good beaches you would recommend?

We did the Thanksgiving cruise on the Galaxy and loved it. Great service, food and a relaxing atmosphere. If you want to change to late seating, have your travel agent fax a request directly to the ship or see the maitre d' as soon as you board. it wasn't a problem for us. Try everything on the menu if you wish...The excursions were also fun: Do the Jolly Roger in Barbados and especially the 4X4 in St. Lucia. We also did some snorklings that were fun in the other places. The worst part of the trip was the disembarking...be prepared for a cluster. We had a veranda suite and enjoyed sitting outside and relaxing. You'll love it!!

Diane/Gail/Michael,

I'm so glad to hear about your positive experiences on Galaxy - I'll be sailing the end of March. Never having been to St. Lucia/St. Croix/Antigua - I'd love more feedback on excursions. Michael - I like to hear that early seating works with this itinerary -- I find 8:15 is a little late for me, but will we be with a lot of kids during the main seating? What were the age groups you experienced? Thanks so much!

Hi Carole,
You'll love the Galaxy. On St. Lucia we took the seven hour land/sea excursion. It was great. The first part was on a jitney type bus with a wonderful tour guide. Windy, narrow, mountain roads. Great way to see the island. Then we stopped for lunch (included) and took a catamaran back and got to see the island from the coast line. It was a wonderful day. On all the other islands we just hopped in a taxi and went to a nice beach.

We were on the Galaxy two years ago -Feb 21 with five other couples and we all enjoyed our trip. We had last seating and probably would get early next time we go because we got done dinner so late and after wine and a large dinner-some of us were too tired to dance. We did go to some shows which were great. We took the Jolly Roger trip and went snorkling in St Johns(these were thru the ship)and saw St. Lucia by van-we all pitched in and bartered w/someone on the dock. This worked out fine. Everything was wonderful on the ship-It was our first time and we had a wonderful time.
