Help with REN Cruise

I've read alot of older messages about REN cruises but I'd love to hear from someone who has just recently done the 7 or 10 day Tahiti. My husband and I are dying to go and the price is right. What's the real deal?

hi, My husband and I went on a Renaissance cruise (R2) from Barcelona to Lisbon for our honeymoon. It was the best vacation and the most enjoyable cruise. I have been on several cruises and Renaissance strikes the perfecd balance between number of people and size of ship..the food is also excellent and the biggest plus is the open seating. you may eat with whomever and whenever you please. close friends went to Tahiti last summer..and had an enjoyable trip...wish I could help you more there...but I know that you would immensely enjoy this cruise line. email me if you have any questions.

My husband and I went on Ren to Tahiti for our honeymoon in September. I can't compare Ren to the big oceanliners because I've never been on one - and don't really care to. The only other cruise I've been on was a Windjammer, which is totally different. The reason we chose Ren was the price is right and it is a smaller ship. I highly recommend this trip. Tahiti and her islands are fabulous. I would recommend booking one of the rooms with a balcony. We loved it. The B cabins were big - as big as a regular hotel room. I don't think the C and D cabins are that much smaller and you still get a balcony. I was generally happy with the food - although I wished that they served more exotic fruits from the area. Our cabin attendant was great - she brought us ice every morning for our cooler to take on the islands with us. We would go again in a second.
We went to the grocery store to stock up on beer and Tahiti drink - a very potent and tasty alcoholic pineapple drink. We kept them in our room and took them on the island with us. We only went on one Ren sponsored tour - which was fine. But we had a better time when we rented various forms of transportation and explored on our own. If you plan on renting a car in Moorea- you need to get off the ship early. We ended up waiting around until 11:30 and still did not get a car.
If you choose to go, you will have a great time.
