Hawaii or Alaska with toddlers?
We are trying to decide between Hawaii and Alaska for us and our two young children. With Hawaii we worry about the long flights from the East Coast. With Alasksa we worry a bit about the weather. Yet we are drawn to the activities in both destinations. Any advice?

Pick the one you like the most. If you're well prepared with lots of snacks, carseats (not lap children) and buy a couple of new toys, get bulkhead seats, commit yourself to playing and entertaining your children during the flight it really shouldn't be too bad. If your children will watch tv you may want to invest in one of those portable DVD players. You will be happy that you did. You'll be able to relax on your cruise afterwards and enjoy your kids and your destination. If you want an opinion wouldn't it be more fun for your little ones in a warmer climate with a pool? Perhaps Alaska for when they're older? Anyway, ignore the child phobic and have fun!

I have to agree- Alaska which is scenery based is of no interest to toddlers and with toddlers the joys of traveling there are probably out of reach for the costly not to be missed excursions. Hawaii may be slightly better in the attractions available for adults??? But strongly consider the reason you are going there??? With toddlers you are going to be extremely limited in your options for touring.
