Going on a Baltic cruise in Aug.--What kind of clothes should I take?

My husband and I are trying to spend our childrens' inheritance and we have booked this fabulous cruise with "Gohagon & Company". It is a Univerity of Michigan tour (Go Blue!) to see the "great cities of the Baltic". The cities are: Stockholm, Hesinki, St. Petersburg, Tallinn, Riga, and Copenhagen. We have never been on a cruise and we are a conservative couple from a small town. We have done some travelling to Russia and Japan years ago when we were younger. We need some help knowing what to pack and how to dress.

Thanks! Dee

We were on a similar Princess cruise 2 years ago in July/August. We had beautiful weather most of the time - sunny and warm - but it was pure luck. The rest of the summer, before and after, was cold and rainy. Best bet is to take things you can layer (pants are fine,) a fleece jacket, rain poncho w/hood, and a long loose skirt in case you have a heat wave in St. Petersburg, where AC can be iffy. The cruise line should provide info about dress for dinner and shipboard activities. Also - this is an exhausting itinerary so rest up!
