Ever tip the Matre d' ?

I know the cruise literature says to not tip the matre d' to get your table switched. I wonder whether anyone has ever been able to slip the Matre d' some cash on their first day to get their table switched or if they all turn down cash until the last day?

The cruise info sheet says to not do that so I don't do that.

You should tip anyone who provided YOU service. If you're in doubt what the Matre d' has done for YOU, don't tip him.

Hi Nikki,

Never tip the Maitre d' beforehand. He will do his best to please you.

If he has assisted, you may tip him at the end of the cruise. Five bucks will do fine.

Paul
