I hope someone can help me. My husband & I booked a cruise to Bermuda several months ago. <BR>We are supposed to sail on October 10, 1999 from Baltimore, maryland on the Celebrity Horizon. <BR>At the time we booked, we did not know that the travel agency we booked through was moving into the home of the owner and we would not be given an address. We have yet to receive our documents, and we can repeatedly get the message machine when we try to call the agent. <BR>The agent did return a call yesterday and spoke to my husband telling him that the documents were supposed to have been sent out from Apple Vacations (we had no idea that they were any part of this plan) over a week ago, and that she expected to receive them by today. It is now 6:20 P.M. and we have not heard from anyone. <BR>I called the 800 # for Celebrity this afternoon, but I was told I needed a booking # which is on none of the receipts that we have from the agent. the woman at Celebrity was very nice, and she called the agency also, and left a message. <BR>I also called what I think is the personal # of the agency owners(it showed up on Caller I.D. from the call yesterday.) I spoke to what sounded like a teenage boy, who said he would pass the message on. <BR>I have not been able to find a # for Apple Vacations, only the agents who are listed under the Apple name. <BR>If anyone could tell me what we might try next, I would be very grateful. <BR>Needless to say, we are becoming very concerned about this, as its only 1 1/2 weeks till sailing. <BR>Thank you

If the agency was a member, which they should have, they might be of help. <BR> <BR>Try the Better Business Bureau near the area the business was located. <BR> <BR>Chamber of Commerce may also be of help. <BR> <BR>I tried to find the main phone number of Apple but I must have discarded it since we agents are not commissionable. You may try calling Norwegian Cruise Lines (customer service). One of their ships (Leeward) is being leased and is marketed by Apple. They might be able to give you the phone of the administrative office. <BR> <BR>If you paid by credit card, the card company may be of help by charging back your payment. <BR> <BR>In any event, I hope you purchased insurance. <BR> <BR>I feel sorry for you and I hope your documents arrive. <BR> <BR>Paul

Thanks Paul for your helpful information. A few hours after I posted, we did hear from the travel agent. She said she had spoken to Apple and they had mailed our documents out that day, but by regular mail. It could take up to 4 days, according to her. If we don't hear anything by Monday, I will try some of your suggestions. <BR>The agent did say that if they didn's arrive, that there is such a thing as picking up the doucments at the dock before we board. Is this a common practice? We don't really want to have to do that, though. We don't even have our itinerary, or know what time we can board, or anything. <BR>Anyway, thanks again for your help.

Donna, <BR>I read your post. Since your travel agent did finally phone you, why not phone this individual again and ask for your booking number. If you have this number, at least you can phone Celebrity and ask about your itinerary and ports. I am surprised your travel agent could not give you this information. If you have your booking number, I would still phone Celebrity and as a double check tell them you do not have your documents yet and ask how to proceed at the dock, should they not arrive on time. We have used Apple in the past, and several travel agts. in our area love to sell Apple as it is affordable for the client and after checking Apple website, there were more than 30 reputable local travel agencies all of whom are recognized by Apple. <BR>Hope this helps and Bon Voyage! <BR>[wondered if you live/lived in CT as I have a cousin with the same name as yours!]

I just wanted to let everyone know that we finally have our documents. the travel agent called on Monday to let us know they were in and to say that she would deliver them to us this evening.(Wednesday) We are heaving a definite sigh of relief! <BR>I am still a little upset about the way this whole thing has gone, and when she arrived here this evening, she was not here for more than two or three minutes, just basically saying," Okay, this paper is for such and such, this one is for this purpose" , etc. <BR>Never having cruised before, we did not know what questions to ask.After looking everything over when she left, we realized that there were some things we might use her help for, but who knows if we will be able to contact her? <BR>I am going to call Celebrity tomorrow and see if any of my questions can be cleared up. <BR>Well, anyway, it looks as if we are really going on a cruise!!! We are very excited and I'm sure we will be counting down the hours and minutes. <BR>I would like to thank Paul and Elaine for the helpful information. and Elaine-no, I am not from Connecticut. I'm not surprised that you have a relative with the same name as mine, however. I run into that all the time!
