Charge for pool use?

We are sailing to Alaska on the Westerdam on 8/31 - since this probably isn't going to be great weather for utilizing the outdoor pool, we thought about using the spa pool. I think there may be a charge for that. Does anyone know how much it is....and is it available as a daily fee, or weekly? How much per person?

Wow. This amazingly shocking to hear about. Although, I have never heard of such a fee, these days, I wouldn't be to suprised. With the rising cost of...well, everything, the cruise lines want to nickel and dime us for everything!

For the sake of your enjoyment, I nearly hope there is no charge.

Happy Crusing!

Don't think it is suprising since it is part of the spa experience.

Charge is $15 or $20/day. Maybe
you can negotiate,patmike, since
the outdoor pools would not be conducive in the Alaskan clime.

We were in Alaska for 17 days a few summers ago, and the weather certainly varied. Some days we wore shorts, and an outdoor pool would have been appealing. Other days, we wore long pants and a light jacket--but I would have still loved an outdoor hot tub.

Hyper, I think there are 2 pools on the ship - one is "free" (included in the price) for everybody, another one in the spa - charge applied.

This is how it was on Princess. In June, I didn't see anybody in the pool

The pool right in the middle has a glass-cover (it will be open weather permitting, or covered when needed) and is free. Apart from that there is a free uncovered pool at the aft.
And in the spa you will find a small pool, but that is the one you have to pay.

We were on the Zuiderdam in June. We went to use the spa pool, but the extra charge was enough to turn us away.
